Barry Moore is Alabama’s true conservative and the first elected official in Alabama to endorse Donald Trump for President in 2016.. Born and raised in Coffee County, he is a Christian, husband, father, and small-business owner. As the owner of a waste removal and demolition company, he knows how to take out the trash in Washington.
In Congress, Barry was rated both the most conservative member in Alabama by CPAC and the state’s most effective legislator by the Center for Legislative Excellence. In August 2015, he became the first elected official in the nation to endorse President Trump, doing so onstage at a rally in Mobile.
Barry grew up on a farm in Coffee County, where he learned to judge a man by his character and his work ethic. He attended Auburn University, where he enlisted in the Alabama National Guard, joined Auburn’s ROTC program, and earned a degree in Agricultural Science.
The best thing that happened at Auburn, however, was meeting his wife Heather Hopper Moore. Barry and Heather quickly became partners in life, faith, work, and their community. They have been married for 33 years.
After college, Barry and Heather founded BMI, Inc., with one garbage truck and the sweat of their brow. Over 20 years later, BMI continues to grow and create jobs throughout Alabama, powered by a reputation for getting the job done.
In 2010, Barry defeated a six-term Democrat incumbent to represent his home in the Alabama House of Representatives. He judged every vote in Montgomery by four values: faith, family, finance, and freedom. In Montgomery and in Washington, Barry only supports bills that pass this four-part test.
Barry fought to protect military families’ access to in-state tuition in Montgomery. With his own experience in the Alabama National Guard, Barry has a heart for service members and their families, sponsoring legislation to shield them from unfair family court procedures, honor out-of-state licenses for military spouses, and advocate for Purple Heart Recipients.
Despite all the good work in Montgomery, Barry learned quickly that most of our issues begin in Washington. In 2020, in the teeth of the pandemic, Barry ran for Congress to fight the lockdowns and stand with President Trump. Since his election, he has stayed rooted in Alabama as he battles the swamp in Washington.
As a member of the key House Judiciary Committee, Barry stood up against Biden’s lawless weaponization of the Justice Department against President Trump and his supporters. He has continued to campaign for veterans, passing laws that ensure they get the benefits they have earned. He has voted repeatedly to cut taxes, secure our border, and build an economy around working families rather than Wall Street.
Barry brought Alabama hospitality to DC, too. In 2023 he won the Workplace Environment Award from the Congressional Management Foundation, celebrating the best bosses and places to work on Capitol Hill.
As your United States Senator, Barry will fight, fight, fight, with President Trump to Make America Great Again. Since 2015, Barry has stayed loyal to the President and advanced his agenda in Montgomery and DC. With the border closed, wages growing, and the Deep State vanquished, Barry and President Trump have made incredible strides – but the work is just beginning.
Barry and Heather have four children (Jeremy and his wife Brittany, Kathleen and her husband Jack, Claudia and her husband Garrett, and Jeb), two grandchildren, and two dogs. He still lives in Coffee County.
